mother being pushy. rant.

So IM 20 Years Old, live With My Husband And Mother (We Are In BetweenMoving So IM Visiting With My Mom Until Baby Is Born) And IM Roughly 2 Weeks From My Due date. My Mom Has Been Extremely Pushy With Everything To The Point Even My Husband is Getting Irritated. It Started With Her Right Out Laughing At Me When I Said I WantEd Natural Labor An Birth And Is Now Moving Into Her Telling Me "You're Going To End Up Puttin Her On Formula, Trust ME. No One Sticks To Breast Feeding.....And It's Kind Of Weird After A While Don't You Think?" IM So Angry. I Don't Feel Like She's Supporting Anything I Want To Do And It's Making Going Through With My Own Decisions So Hard.Ranting :( sorry

Im sorry she is treating you this way. When people act like this it isnt abput you at all it is a reflection of how they feel about themselves. I had my oldest daughter at 20 and I breastfed her for 11 months. My 2nd daughter was born when I was 22 and I breastfed her for 16 months. You do what feels right. I told my doctor the birth plan was maybe I want drugs maybe I don't.  I wouldnt know until It happened. Im now pregnant at 8 weeks but I'm 33 and plan on breastfeeding again. Hang in there I know it is hard to be around negative people.

The Only Reason IM Staying With Her Is Because My Husband Got A Work Transfer And I Didn'T Want To Be Traveling So Close To My Due Date. Unfortunately IM Stuck Here Until MyDaughter Decides She's Ready To Go..

Don't let her know when it is it sounds u guys need to move asap after baby is born itll suck moving but if she's pushy and controlling ugh

it's More So Irritating Then Anything Because Even When I Say "Well I Want To Do ____ For The Reasons" She Will Cut Me Off And Say IM Trying To Hard Or I Will Change My Mind. Well Yeah IM Gonna Change My Mind If Nobody AgreeS With Me. She's Even Gotte Into Saying "When We Go To See The Doctor We Need To Let Him Know ____" It's My Obgyn Appointment  I Don't Even Want Her There But If I Don't Take Her She Just Shows Up In Her Car And Acts All Pissed Off.

Wow that's messed up. Its most likely because that's what happened with her and she doesn't want to see that you maybe do things better then her and can handle pain and what not better then her. Don't listen to her. You got it :)

If u HAVE to stay there id just try to ignore her as best as u can and stick with what U want to do ull do great once u and ur hubs have ur own place and if she keeps doing that then id tell her to keep those comments to herself or not come around

For a FTM, I understand you want recognition for your accomplishments, especially from your Mother. But the reality is not everyone wants to celebrate your happiness. Some people hope you will fail, so try not to look for your Mother to Praise you for being a great Mommy. Seek happiness from knowing you are doing the best you can,  even if you have to change your plans. Stay calm and flexible, no one has all the answers to Motherhood. Stay positive Sweetie♥

I'm sorry that you're going through this, but that's how moms are lol my mom did it to me when I was pregnant with my first & she sometimes does it now while I'm pregnant with my second but its your child you & your husband together have to be firm in your beliefs & in what you want for your child dont let mama change your mind

Ughh, all I can say is either just ignore it for the rest of your life or blow up and have it out with her.  She's so wrong tho....about breastfeeding, sounds like she just wants to control everything.  I'm glad I don't have to live with her.
