my labor story

I woke up Friday 06/27 at 530 to go to the bathroom and afterwards I sat down on the edge of the bed cuz I was uncomfortable when I felt a gush and I knew it was my water since I had just peed, so I stood up and got another gush. So we got to the hospital at 6, I was still gushing so much water that they didn't even have to do the test for it, they just took one look at me and admitted me instantly. I was at 2 cm and 90% effaced. My contractions were about 4 min apart so they started me in pitocin immediately. I then continued to labor and was a 5 the next time they checked me a couple hours later. Then within an hour I was a 7. My dialation then stalled and I was stuck at a 7 for about 3 hours before changing to an 8 and then an hour later a 9 then I started feeling a little pressure but not much because of my epidural so I let them know and they checked and I was ready to push. My doctor then did what they call 'rest and decend' where they wait an hour for you to rest as much as possible and let baby work their way down. I then started pushing at 7, first 45 min were practice pushes I then had to wait 15 min without pushing (which believe me is hard cuz you just feel the constant need to) for both the doctors to come in, and within a couple pushes my handsome little guy was born at 8:08 pm. He is 8 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches. So cute and such a good baby. He responds immediately once he heardheard mine or my husbands voice.
