obesity and labor

Do u guys think that being obese could affect the labor process?  I've been having contractions since Tuesday and losing my mucus plug since then. I lost a lot of mucus yesterday and still no baby. I was 2cm dilated on  Tuesday and 30% effaced. It's now Friday and I'm starting to worry about the well being of my child. I called l&d and they said there was nothing they could do if my contractions aren't consistent. I'll b 39 weeks tomorrow.  Someone please help me!

Thanks ladies.  I guess I'm just nervous because with both my girls as soon as i started feeling cramps my contractions got stronger and consistent and i delivered the next day with both. That's why I'm anxious about this one, because I've been having contractions since Tuesday and it's Friday and still no baby. I just want him to be healthy!

That's all part of the early labor process. It can take days or even weeks.

You're fine, the next time they check you you'll be further dilated. I had contractions but nothing persistent. When I was checked, I was dialating. Just keep track of them and have patience :)
