ok Ew but catheter?

I'm a ftm and it's just now hitting me all if the weird things that might happen during labor. Do they always put a catheter in or is that just if you get an epidural? And I mean one through your urethra.

I had an epidural with my last birth, and to be quite honest, I forgot all about the catheter. They put it in after I received my epidural, so I didn't feel a thing! But with my first, I went all natural, and I didn't receive a catheter. So, I guess the answer to your question is no, they don't always do a catheter.

They put mine in after the epidural so it didn't burn or hurt for me.

Goes up your pee hole so you can relieve yourself into a bag through that tube insteadof getting up and going to the bathroom by yourself.

Ok good lol I'm planning on going natural as long as I can hold out and I've never had a catheter before I'm a little afraid of it.
