opk stopped getting its surge

This month i bought opk's from online and started using them 5 days after my period ended. well 4 days(CD18) ago i started noticing that the test line was getting darker but not fully positive. the next day it was the same. then when i took one yesterday it didn't have any color to it. the night before last i had gotten into a verbal fight with my husband. i am wondering if that caused me to stop my LH surge or if that is a sign that i don't ovulate at all. also i am always stressed, could that be a reason why i haven't conceived yet? my periods are somewhat irregular but only by a a few days no longer than a week average 32 days. If anyone has any insight or advice that would be wonderful!

I've used the opk's with control lines and found that the test lines never got dark enough. However, I switched to the smiley-face opk's by Clearblue Easy and have found them more accurate and easier to read. These are also the top rated by Consumer Reports and recommended by fertility specialists during treatment. I say make the switch.

just becuase you have an annovulatory cycle or have one where you ovulate late doesn't mean there is somethign wrong.  Sometimes our cycles just have a fluke or two for a month

i test twice a day also and all the tests looked the same. and then for 2 days it was dark purple control line with a second light  pink line with a hint of purple on the very edge. well if it isn't stress then maybe i should get blood work done to rule out anything bad. maybe my body is being funny and i will ovulate today. thank you for your responses

honestly, for me next time that i try to conceive i wont do any charting nor use opks beacuse it puts so much stress and just counting the days and all that stuff it made me feel my journey on ttc an eternity. i dnt think the fight with your husband cause the stop of lh surge i just think that wanting to get pregnant so badly is causes the process longer and freaking difficult. my advice? just have sex, enjoy it and let everything run its course by itself :) good luck!

I seriously doubt a verbal fight would cause your body to not ovulate.  If that's the case I would have never gotten pregnant.  Chances are that you missed your surge.  Are you testing TWICE a day?  With opk's it's very easy to miss your surge if you test at the wrong time of day before it only lasts approximately 12 hours.  I used them mid morning and mid afternoon.
