ovulation after mc?

i had a mc on feb 12, and i was woundering if i can stil ovulate if i have low hgc hormones?
i did a preg test and it said positive(but very faint line!!), i know its just from my mc, but can i stil ovulate if i am stil having positive results? i had a blood test done yesterday to see how much hgc is left, but wont get results for a wk. we want a baby so much. we already had a little boy who is 18 months and we want anther one around the same age. please help, very confused and upset.

also how long does it usually take to get prgnant after m/c? is it true you are more fertile, or is it a myth??

i so need to get over this, but cant untill i know everything is babk to normal!!!

i had a d and c on 2/12, same day as your MC, i am very sorry for your loss.  this is my second in 2 months.  from what most doctors say is that you can not ovulate until your levels go back down to normal.  I have already had to periods since my d and c, but my last mc, it took 7 weeks for me to get my period again.  I got pregnant again withon 2 months after my first mc, but that resulted in another loss.  So your body can get pregnant again but some women's are not ready yet, that is why they say wait at least 2-3 months, just to give your body some time to re-coop.

Good luck to you:)

I got my period 4 weeks three days after MC. So even though I tried straight after I wasn't lucky. I just ovulated on Friday so am hoping I am preggers right now but will test next Saturday. If BFN (Big Fat Negative) then I will wait til my AF due like we're supposed to.

My levels didn't get that high, I only got a BFP four days before it happened so I had an idea something wasn't right but held on to the hope as long as I could.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. xxxx

thanks for all your help.was in hospital all of yesterday and last nite. i started to bleed again and had a little pain. they ran loads of tests, kept me in over night and did more tests this morning. it now seems my hcg levels are dropping, so i have lost baby. but they stil have not ruled out eptopic. i have more blood tests tuesday to see if my hcg drops more, and then maybe a scan if not much has changer. my levels only went down from 200 to 173, so not a massive drop. they have said the bleeding i am having now could be that i still have something left inside and my body is sorting it out itself out. i am hoping they go down alot on tuesday, so i can move on and start trying after my next period. fingers crossed!!!!!

I M/C on 8th Feb naturally. I went for a scan at the early baby unit but they did a test and it was negative so they sent me home without the scan and said I could try again immediately but would have to wait til the bleeding stopped (obviously)
I was gutted at first and tried to convince myself that there was a twin but it doesnt help.
I'm surprised they checked your levels because your from the UK and they don't tend to do that here.
Anyway I tried immediately but can't have been successful because AF came on 11th March. This was quick because they said it might  take 6 weeks. Anyway I am TTC again and just ovulated yesterday so my cycle must be back to normal because that's when I thought I would :)

I wouldn't have thought you will ovulate while you have the HCG in your system because of the way the cycle works. It's a long time to still be getting a faint positive though - have you tried different brands of tests. I found the first response the best. I had a wierd time with the clear blue. I also think if there was a twin or an ectopic then you would get a darker line. I'm no expert though ;)

I'm sorry for your loss. Try and keep busy xxxx

Hey girl, try to relax,if your levels are high, and they couldnt see anything on the scan, they would have checked for eptopic since this can be dangerous, ive had an eptopic, which ruptured at roughly 4weeks,since they havent mentioned this dont think this is the case,if you are concerned about eptopic.discuss with your doctor.
dont get disheartned there could be other things going on...
im afraid i dont know about d+c i mc naturally, ive heard different things about it.generally there are no problems after.as for ovulation it shouldnt delay things.good luck im sure you be fine.

had both results and my levels are rising. so it does not sound good. i am very worried heard so much about eptopic pregnancy its scary. i have gotta wait for hospital to get back to me with a scan. but its the waiting game again!!!

i know it aint gonna be good news, i aint had that for ages!!!
does any one know about d&c, does it hurt and mess u up? does it mean that you dont ovulate for ages???

Well I ovulated 2 weeks after I had my m/c and had a period a week after I ovulated. Yes they say you are more fertile right after a m/c. My best friend had a m/c in December and didn't even wait to have a period and is now 14 weeks pregnant. I'm sure it's different for everyone but wait it out and see what happens. Good luck to you! Hope everything goes well!

thanks. i am just very confused. the hospital did a pregnancy test when i went for my scan witch was negative, but because i did one that said positive they have done blood tests. doc called me today and my hormones are unusally high, gotts have another one tommorrow. am worried. i had two scans both saying there was nothing left, so the doc does not seem to think it could be that. could it be that i am pregnant again? or is there something wrong?? i was only 4 wks when i m/c so doc seems to think all hormones should have gone?

please help?

Hiya im sorry for your loss, you will need your bodys hormones to return to normal, before you ovulate.then your period will come,im a bit sceptical as to whether you are more fertile after mc,but hey there are plenty of women who have concieved,my advice though would be to wait till you have had at least 1 period before trying again, just to make sure all is normal again, best of luck..
