I like to paint canvas and I was wondering if acrylic paints are  harmful

Any paint is harmful, even if you're not pregnant. But I also love painting. I avoid oils for now but if I want to use acrylic I just open a window and make sure it's well ventilated

And I only avoid oils just because you typically use a paint thinner to get it off your brush and to blend

My boyfriend wanted to do some paintings for our baby and the doctor said he had to use watercolor

That's strange, especially if he's in a different room because my friend did a huge mural on his babies nursery wall using acrylic, also my dr didn't say not to use acrylic just keep the room ventilated, but it depends on what your on wants, give em a call
