period lasted 2 days- brown discharge--help!

So, I started my last period on August 19th and my husband and I have had sex a few times, once being in the time frame of ovulation (I think- I've never taken ovulation tests). I was supposed to start my period on the 20th, but it didn't start until the 27th and I bled normal for one to one and a half days, and today all there was was some brown discharge. That is very abnormal for me, because I usually have a 5 day period and it's medium-heavy flow.

I am also feeling EXTREMELY tired (but this could be because I think I'm getting a cold, thank you cool weather!), a little nauseous but not puking, and I have constant back pain which is normal for me too. I think it sounds like I'm pregnant, but seeing as that's what I WANT, I'm afraid of going to get a pregnancy test just so it can tell me no once again...

So I was hoping for anyone's opinions if they would please, or whoever might be going through the same thing. Thank you. =)

Well I took a HPT 2 days ago now, and it was negative too. I don't have a bladder infection either. The last couple of days I have started to feel pretty nauseous, so I'm thinking about taking another test today. I hate to waste the time, money, and my hopes by taking another one though! It's depressing! lol
