period while pregnant

I took an at home pregnancy test about a week ago and it was positive, shortly after what I believe is my period has started. I've had cramps and a somewhat steady flow. It hasn't been very heavy, I've only filled up a pad once. However, I went to my doctor and had a blood work pregnancy test done and it came back positive. Now my doctor is just trying to figure out if it is a period or my ovarian cysts rupturing. Has anyone experienced a normal or somewhat notmal cycle during their pregnancy?! Help! My fiancé and I are very worried about our little blessing. We've miscarried before.

Thank you all! That does help ease my mind a lot. I felt like I was going crazy or something, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this or something similar.

I've done that before. More blood than I would have thought but it wasn't as much as my period. Apparently your body gets used to shedding lining and bleeding every cycle so sometimes it tries to even when you're pregnant. I had it for the first three months. This time I got very faint Spotting a week after my expected period.

And I have a few friends actually that had normal periods while pregnant. They didn't know they were pregnant until going into labor.

My grandmother had normal periods with both her pregnancies if that helps ease your mind a little.

I had what was called implantation bleeding only one time. Look it up. I had all the symptoms. Light bleeding. Wasn't like my normal flow.
