My doctor recommended at my next appointment I should get the pertussis vaccine.  Ill be 30  weeks.

Good idea or should I wait until I give birth?

I recommend it. Because it will also help protect the baby until he/she can get the vaccines theirselves.

I would but most doctors wont recommend it if other has more cons than pros. My first I got all my shots except the flu at the hospital after I delivered. I am not sure how this one will go.

My dr said it takes a month for the vaccine to actually protect you.

I personally would keep my hands off of vaccines during pregnancy! There is a greater chance of harm than benefit.
