I was induced with pitocin once the contractions I was already having stopped and it made the contractions really strong really fast. And as far as I've read it happens most of the time. But for some people they say its not that painful.

I was induced on the 18th of this month. contractions started almost immediatly and were back to back with no pause inbetween for 36 hours except the 5 hours over night that they stopped the pitocin so that i could try and sleep. No sleep though. contractions still came every minute or two.

It probably depends on the person. For me I HATE the stuff. I had to be induced with both my boys. They used the pitocin and the gel and it hurt really bad and the contraction were frequent and extremely close together. My labor lasted between 13-18hrs between both boys. Best of luck to you and your cousin!
