pregnancy anxiety

This is my first pregnancy, and I'm having some problems with anxiety and nervousness. I worry myself sick over the smallest aches and pains, but at the time I feel totally right for worrying. Is there any way that I can relieve stress? A few friends and family members have suggested yoga as a distraction, but were saving money for a baby and the last thing I need is to spend money on yoga. I just can't stop worrying and keep myself up at night sometimes.

If you don't mind me asking, what medication are you using? I've had a prior history of anxiety and have talked to my OB, but anxiety "attacks" have become more frequent since my last appointment. I want to stay as natural as possible, but some medicine may be a last resort. Thanks everyone for the support!

Your problem sounds similar to mine, and I was having the same pains and stressing about them. Turns out, its pretty common and usually means you have ligaments and things stretching in your abdomen.

I'm right there with you!!this is my first pregnancy and I'm 20w2d and I worry constantly..it wrecks my nerves only having one appointment a month with my OB bc I feel like that's so long in between and I don't want anything to go wrong and them not catch it in time.i love my baby girl so much and im so attached to her already.every ache and pain makes me freak out..I was actually freaking out all morning from some weird really bad sharp pain I had yesterday so I just started cleaning to keep my mind off of bad things..I keep feeling her move so I just lay down every few minutes to make sure she's still bouncing around in there and it gives me piece of mind..I really wish I could get my hands on a dopplar lol but I know I'd be constantly checking haha but it's motherly instinct to worry.wishing you a wonderful worry-free pregnancy!good luck mama!

Well I don't know how intense your anxiety is, if its anything like mine, I would tell you to get on an anxiety med. I went into the er before finding out I was pregnant, with stroke symptoms, my anxiety was so bad that I feared for my life. It turns out that I was six weeks pregnant with my first baby, and was told not to worry about my health, because pregnancy can do some crazy things to the body, and that i probably had a prior problem with it all my life, but it just magnified with becoming preggo.. I got on a safe medication to help ease it, but now I just take it whenever I need It. Other than that (which helps the very most), sitting outside alone and taking some good deep breaths, always helped me before I knew it was a problem :)
