pregnancy straight after abortion

i discovered i was pregnant 2 months ago, it was a total shock as i was on the pill. i decided not to go ahead with the pregnacy as i feel i am not ready. i had the abortion 15 days ago. i bled for 5 days. i went straight to the doctors and went back on the pill. stupidly i had unprotected sex before i had been taking the pill for 7 days so it was not effective.  i have since missed the date i should have come on my period, i have done two tests both of which said positive. is it possible i still have hormones in my body from my last pregnancy? and do periods carry on as normal after an abortion? i need advice please

its been almost 3 weeks since i had the abortion, they told me not to have sex until id stopped bleeding, so when i had i didnt think it would be a problem.
i had an internal examination to make sure everything was removed and told everything was ok and i didnt need to return to hospital. thanks for the advice everyone...

Did you have a D&C?  If it's only been 15 days, then my guess would be you still have the hormone in your system.  You won't ovulate until the hormones are down to zero.  Do you have a follow up apt to make sure everything was removed?

Periods change all the time, Mine was normal straight away, I had a sergical abortion as i was 22wks.. I only bled for 2 days.

Also depending on how far gone your were your womb takes time to heal....

Yeah you can get pregnant straight away but they also tell you NOT TO HAVE SEX FOR 2 WEEKS! not even Oral.....

Your pregnancy test will stil be pos after 3 wks....
So after 3 wks take a test and see what happens...

If your tests showed positive, either way (from last months harmones or potential new pregnancy), you should seek medical help.

yes it is possible to still have HcG in your body...I wouldnt think that you would still show positive, but also I have no experience there so I know I am not much help, sorry! But as far as getting pregnant immediately, yes, that is very possible if you were ovulating then...I know after a MC people get pregnant within a few weeks....I would take another test in a day or two and see what it does.
