Crib bumpers?

I have read a lot of things online about how crib bumpers can increase the risk of SIDS. I saw some breathable ones at target and I was wondering if those are safe? I'm definitely not going to use a normal crib bumper but I'm worried about my baby getting stuck in the rails of the crib.

I have the regular  crib bumpers in my daughters crib.  She's been sleeping  in her crib since 4 weeks  old.  They've protected her numerous  times from smacking her head. She's  almost 9 months old. Everything "can cause SIDS".

I got one with my crib bedding. I put it in the crib for looks, just because I had it. But, my baby still sleeps in her pack n play, and when she starts to sleep in her crib I will remove it. A lady in my church had a baby that rolled into her bumper and suffocated. It scared me to death.
