pregnant after being on accutane

Hi, I have recently found out I am pregnant, I was taking accutane last year from january until june and have not taken it since. I am a bit worried about the affects of taking accutane since finding out i am pregnant. At the time of taking it I had to use 2 types of contraception and have a pregnancy test every time I was given my next prescription. I was told to continue using 2 types of contracption 1 month after stopping taking accutane. I know it is over a year since I stopped taking accutane but am worried because I know the affects can be very bad for the baby. Do you have any information on this and do you think my baby will be ok? I am only 1 month pregnant. Thanks

I echo the other postings - I think you should be fine. It has been plenty of time for the Accutane to work its way out of your system. Make an appt with your doctor to confirm everything is fine thus far. And most importantly, dont worry! Too much stress and anxiety can be harmful for your little one :)

I agree with smjmekg!!! If it has been year I would imagine that it is totally out of your system. For some reassurance just talk to your OB about it and I sure they will tell you the same thing but it is always nice to hear from them too!!!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

If it's been over a year since you took it, then I doubt it could have any affect on your pregnancy, especially since they only told you to make sure you use 2 types of contraception for only one month after taking it. I'm sure you're fine, and that it won't affect the baby. But I would set up an appointment with your doctor soon so you can start the prenatal care you need.
