I am currently 5 weeks pregnant.  I have been spotting since Saturday morning.  It is sometimes red, pink or brown.  I contacted my OB/GYN on Saturday and she told me that 2/3 of women bleed in their 1st trimester.  It can happen for many reasons such as implantation, subchoironic bleeding, and miscarriage.  She also told me that it is common to bleed in subsequent pregnancies, this is my second.  My sister had bleeding when she was pregnant with her twins, as did 2 of her friends who also had twins.  I went today to have my hcg levels checked and I have to go again on Wednesday.  If they are doubling then it is unlikely to be a miscarriage and then they will go from there to figure out where the bleeding is coming from.  I can't have any type of ultrasound until 6 weeks, which I will be on Sunday.

I'm praying for you, I would definetly call the doctor, with being 8 weeks they can do an ultrasound and see what is going on.  Good luck to you.

No it's normal.  If you begin to bleed or discharge with odor contact you OBGYN.

I just went to my doctor and he said spotting is completey normal and that unless it is significant amounts of blood that their is no worries. Spotting occurs for many reasons and now that our cervix is so delicate we will probably spot

You should contact your doctor. Sometimes spotting is okay, other times its not. Hope everything is okay.
