ptsd issues

I am a ftm and my BD is a former marine wih diagnosed PTSD, including traumatic injuries from the war. I'm 8 weeks and he has been so ecstatic and supportive until today. He had a major "flashback" or "freakout" and went crazy tearing up the house almost hitting me in the process. I don't not want to lose my little family over this. I just don't know how to deal or to forgive or to even try. He has a mental issue but I don't know if that is an excuse. Any advice from other military wives?

Hey. My husband does as well. I'm an Army wife after 3 tours he had it bad. Not to mention tramatic brain injury. It took a few months if different meds he sees a Dr in and off post. The ones on post aren't much help and are quite overwhelmed w patients. Ask if you can gi w him to his drs. I've gone a few times w my hubby. He would tell them all was well and wasnt getting anywhere w it. I went in and maybe made him mad but told them what I saw daily. He's on meds now, a few actually, and is being medically retired. I'm here if u need to ask any questions. It can be really scary I know. And even if your marine and I'm army were still both military.

He is currently under treatment through the VA. They changed his meds and he hasn't received his new ones yet. I think that and sleep deprivation led to this but you made a lot of great points. Thank you, your input helped greatly.

Eh, ptsd is a hard one to decipher... It doesn't mean what he did was okay by any means, but at least you know its nor just anger issues... I think the best thing would be to get him to go to counseling for the ptsd. It is a difficult disorder to deal with and yes, can cause some pretty intense flashbacks. But you can't put yourself in danger, especially while pregnant. Personally, I would get him some professional help.
Btw I'm not a military wife lol but I used to be roommates with a girl that had ptsd from sexual abuse through her childhood. It got pretty intense at times. Also my bd has a traumatic brain injury and it is also hard to decipher what he can control and what is due to his brain injury. Best of luck to you both...
