quiting smoking.

I am not ready to give up smoking. And I know it is not healthy for the baby. I am almost 16 wks and I herd quoting cold turkey can cause withdrawal for the baby also. Not to mentchin I get so stressed without a smoke. I cry so much about everything and I no it is not hood stress for thebaby ethier. So what do I do?  Is the niccorette gum bad if I used that unroll the craving goes? Smoking is harmfull, but what is worse. The gum, stress, or the ciggerett

I went from smoking 25g a day + to nothing as soonas I found out I was preg (about 6 weeks) I felt like u at first as my relationship was breaking down and I was being screamed at every day I was so scared of added stress, but I started cutting down.. Got down to 5 Rollies a day upon finding out, then from that down to 2 a day and then just stopped.. It's easier then u think.. But yes cut down don't go completely cold turkey, ask your dr for help if needbe x

Quitting is hard I haven't had a smoke since I found out I was preg although I want one so bad sometimes. Lots of hard candy seemed to.help me. Also I've heard that the gum is.really no better.for the.baby then the cigarettes are. But its.really all up to you I smoked through  out my first pregnancy I just couldn't quit amd my son is a perfectly healthy 6 yr old. If by chance you are overweight it would prob be better if you could force yourself to quit cause itcan cause high blood pressure which.is.harmful.to.you and baby

I went through the same thing, and I wasn't ready to quit either but I had an ultrasound about a week ago and my baby was jumping and sucking it's thumb and I just thought, how could I live with myself if that little angel came out with breathing difficulties. It's hard and I still want one, especially after I eat, but my morning sickness went away now that I'm not smoking:) ask your OB what's the safest way to quit if you can't do it on your own. It'll be worth it :)

Just reading your question, and I gave up when I was like 14weeks it was hard at first but guess am kind of usted to it now, to be honest with you I haven't got a clue how I did it because I tried to give up before becoming pregnant with gum and patches everythink really and nothin worked, but gave up without anythin, am not sure about in the world you are but here in the uk we have like smoking groups and you can claim free gum and patches on the nhs.

well both the gum and smoking would be the worst, the gum would put nicotine straight into your babies system, while the smoking reduces your babies oxygen inake by up to 60 % each time you light up, you can find ways to help deal with stress, your baby cant escape when you smoke, you need to put baby first and at least cut down dramatically if you havent already, as the stress bubs body is under to pump enough oxygen around their tiny body so that they can get enough oxygen  is way more than what they would go through with you emotionally stressing

Personally I would just quit and I did.. I'm not sure about the gum. Have you thought about the e ciggs? Or even smoking American spirits? Nothing else in there, but plain tobacco.. I guess if youre ready to give up smoking then the next best thing woul be the lesser of two evils. Good luck to you..
