Please be aware that this test has a high rate of "false positives" (indicatinga problem when there is none.) Your doctor *should* inform you of this.
Like JoyRenee, I have always refused this test. I know at least 5 women personally who have had false positives and went thru alot of stress and an amnio only to have perfectly healthy babies. I would rather not know, myself, as I will take my baby however s/he is!!
It is normal to be a little worried, but try not to stress too much; its bad for you AND baby! Good luck!!
Well you can opt out of the testing unless you have reason to need it (if you're over age 35 and have a history of genetic problems in your family or hubby's family). I never did the genetic testing because I felt it caused so much undue stress and grief.
