semen analysis report!! please let me know what do you think!!

Hi everyone, me n' my DH TTC for 6months with no luck. we did sem analysis and came as in the following, just want to share these with you all, please tell me what you think. PS the dr, told us he hv low counts the rest are good. Please let me know what you think!!. Any Inputs are welcome. Thank you.

Morphology indicates the amount of sperm that were the correct shape, ie:a normal healthy sperm. Not a sperm with two heads or two tails or sperm with issues in the midpiece and tail, as those aren't healthy sperm. My DH's morphology was 11% and I was told that 11% was still a good number.

16 million/ml is on the low side, and over half of those are swimming and doing what they're supposed to. The only problem I can see is that he's low on his sperm count and then the number of sperm that are healthy shapes.BUT, keep in mind that when they are looking at morphology, they are deducting for every sperm that doesn't look perfect and they are very meticulous about it.

Basically, the only real issue is the low sperm count. I'm not sure how frequently you are bd'ing, but you need to try every other day to every two days to allow his supply to rebuild adequately. Are you using OPK's or charting your BBT? Those would be very helpful to you in pinpointing ovulation so that you can time when you bd just right. Don't get discouraged as it can take up to 2 years to conceive. It took DH and I 14 months and I had to use clomid as I wasn't ovulating due to my PCOS. Good luck!

Thankx . yes i do ovl on 14thday n' im using opk's i have reg 28day cycle. my last af was on april 2nd. i the past months, we do bd'ing 3-5days everyday prior to my ovul day,so now this month we decid only do once just a day b4 ovul day.what do u think?? so over all the problm is with molitilty, morphology n' low counts?? my next af due on april 30th.

His motility is great. It's just that his sperm count is low. Morphology is such a tricky subject bc the sperm has to be perfect and lets face it, not many sperm in any male is perfect, but they still father children. So, imo the issue is just low sperm count. If you were having sex everyday leading up to ovulation then that's probably why you were unsuccessful in getting pregnant. He basically had no sperm left. lol. It's okay for you to bd the day of o, two days before, and two days after. Or even the day before , like you did. Just make sure you do it every other day to every two days to allow him to rebuild his sperm count.

His sperm count may be abit on the low side...But remember it only takes 1 :-)) My hubbys count was 14 (( as you said idial is over 20)) and iv been pregnant 4 times!
Its all about timing! We BD from CD10 everyday upto CD20 i dont use OPKs or chart my BBT as i think this adds to the stress of TTC, I have also started taking 100mg MACA this month alot of ladies have some great sucess stories. I also take folic acid daily and a multivitamin, Hubby takes zinc and multivitamins, Get your hubby some zinc its proven to increase healthy sperm count!
Try not to stress about not getting prego because your body will do just that relax :-) and it will happen!
Nicole is right in saying it can take couples 2years to conceive but what happens if you dont get prego in 1st few months we panic thinking something must be wrong and the added stress of that can stop you conceiving alone, Relax and enjoy it :-)))

in my opinion what matters is marphology and motility that is good in ur reports. may count will increase the chances but as amy said u need one though. so keep trying. good luck.

oh sorry morphology shuld be greater than 14 %?and its 8.but its good u didnt wait 1 yr

ya, i asked the same thing to the dr, about morpho he said its fine, only prob he pointed was the counts. but i think when he gets a high counts his morph will raise too rite?? ya we will try one more time this month, if that doesnt wornk, i dont want to wait any longer.. Thankx to All u ladies :)

The reason 8% is considered okay is because they set the bar so high on morphology that pretty much no man scores a 14 or above. Like I said, my DH had 61million/ml ans all of the other numbers were spot on and his morphology was 11%. The dr I talked to said 14 is what they consider to be the average, but that she hardly ever had anyone scoring that high.
