should i get pregnant

I have had anxiety disorder for 3 years now. Was on lexopro, did not like it, been off for 2 years. I have a healthy son he's 4 now.Just wondering if I should try for another one, even though I have anxiety disorder? I'm worried because of my anxiety, my baby wont be healthy.

i have horrible anxiety as well. i read into everything my body is doing and i try and figure out what is wrong...it is absolutely draining! we started our first round of iui this month and i was worried what would happen if i got pregnant because i dont want to cause the baby extra stress. well, iui didn't work this month so i guess i will tackle my concerns next month. let me know what works for you.

This is only a decision that you can make.  However, what you should know is that there ARE anti-anxiety medications that can be taken during pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risks.  Typically its best to avoid these during the 1st trimester though.  There are also medications that can be used to control panic attacks during pregnancy which are considered relatively safe (Xanax analogs for pregnant women).  So, if you were to get pregnant and need help with anxiety then there are options out there for you.  Only extremely severe anxiety might have an impact on your baby - preterm labor would be a typical complication.
