Has anyone had any experience with silent labor? When should you go in if you think you have this?

I had that with my induction. I dilated to a six without feeling much. I was trying to make them stronger and I got stuck at a five for a long time. But they didn't hurt and didn't feel like anything was happening. (And I've given birth before so I knew what it was supposed to feel like). I ended up having to go back on the pit drip to make them hurt at all. Wondering if maybe my delivery would have been even less painful had I just waited for my cervix to dilate in its own time rather than cranking up the pit.
