Thank you ladies its hard to find information that is non judgemental and bias i apprecaite everyones input!
I also read the study that the women did in jamaica and watched her speech on youtube about the whole thing. Ive smoked throughout my pregnancy so far and also have lots of friebds who have due to the area we live in in the mountains. It is all locally grown and very clean.
I would suggest having a proper conversation with your doctor but as far as i am aware, smoking, whether it be cigarettes or marijuana (if that's what you mean by licensed), is perfectly fine to do as long as you keep as much smoke away from your breasts as you can, so obviously cover up and wash your hands afterwards (:
I would definitely consult with a doctor and ask their professional opinion and point you to where you can find information to make an educated decision. Personally without any judgement, if you can do without don't smoke. Why even take that risk if there is a small chance it can harm baby?

The only negative thing I've heard about it was that it can lower milk supply, especially if.you don't stay hydrated while doing it.
That post was for cigarettes only. Dunno about weed
I've taken several breast feeding classes and was told if I am going to smoke breast feeding is ok. Just when you do go out sidemake sure wear a hoodie and take it off before holding baby and wash hands also breast feeding helps yoi stop smoking! Youre okay it does not get in the milk
A lot of people do it & their child has no problems
I actually read a study performed on this today, a woman was in Jamaica and studied 24 mothers and babies up to 5 years. The mothers smoked during pregnancy and continued after baby was born in order to help with nausea and stress. What the study found was that there was no negative effects on the babies in fact they excelled compared to babies that were not introduced to it. The study was never properly published because the results were not what her funders were looking for as they were looking for the opposite. The studies done in America about the negative effects and "birth defects" marijuana use can cause on a baby were never studies based just on marijuana use they were paired with more hard life threatening drugs such as cocaine, meth and alcohol so it is not fair to judge that. Personally I do not smoke but I am not against people that do especially for medical reasons I think it will come down to a personal preference for yourself and the reasons on which you do it. Definitely do some research but just thought I'd share what I know as this can sometimes be a very touchy subject. Good luck with everything!
u can not smoke while u are breastfeeding , if u do ur baby willbe very sick
Talk to your obgyn first but marijuana has not been known to cause any type of birth defects or anything like that.. at all I would personally say it safe bt then again I just know some facts. But I had an aunt who smoked ciggs like no ones buisness during her pregnancy she had 2 ciggs bt felt so bad after :/ since ciggs are proven to cause birth defects.. just keep your self busy to where youre not tempted. Take walkes, picnics, etc :)
@january6th awee i know how you feel i thought my addiction to smoking had me by the nuts but i surprised myself when i quit everything!! I do get tempted at times to just smoke a stoggie its so hard to fight the urge the stress with being preggo is just overwhelming! Hopeing to atleast be able to blaze after i give birth but i want to breastfeed so bad! #Preggoproblems
I'm not sure all about thc going into your breast milk I'm sure it probably does, I do know a friend who had nausea so bad that the only thing that helped was smoking green and her daughter is perfectly healthy happy baby. I smoke ciggs and I feel bad about it and I have tried quiting over and over again but stress is not easy to handle for me at certain times especially being pregnant.
