stay at home mommy?

Is anyone here already a stay at home mother? This is my first pregnancy, im almost 20, live with my parents 2 sisters and my bf (he works full time at a factory on night shift) and were planning on me being a stay at home mommy. I know its gonna be kinda hard but id like to hear from mothers who have already experienced this what its really like.

Hi. I have two little ones, a 3 and 1year old. 18 wks along, due in March.  I've been a stay a home since my first baby. Yes, it's gets overwhelming at times, but I would trade it. It's hard at times especially being pg. My husband goes to school & he helps when he can. But if you have a good support system from your bf & family you'll be fine. Good luck!

Its pretty hard when your by yourself I have been a stay at home mommy for 3 years and im due with my second in 10 days. But my husband worked in the oil field so he was gone 2 weeks at a time so I was on my own.. but after a while it gets easier so just rest when the baby does and keep your self busy so you dont go crazy lol

EXTREMELY BORING! Lol but I'm serious. I used to complain ALL the time about not wanting to work, being a stay at home mom, etc. A year ago, my bf offered it to me. He told me to walk out of my job 1day when I was telling him how nady day was going, & daid it was fine not to work as long as I kept the house up, stayed in school & kept taking good care of our son. I was estatic, especially because at that time we were actively trying for a baby. But after a few weeks, it got boring. I tried to find work again but because I walked out, no one would hire me.lol With a new baby I would love it & looking forward to it (35weeks now), but because my son is in school now (5yr old) I sit home all day with nothing to do.lol House stays clean, dinner done daily & maintaining a 3.7 in school.
Hope you enjoy it more than I, but for a while we should be fine-the newborns will keep us pretty busy. ☺

I have a 17mth old and am due later this year with our second. The first 6mths were really tough but then he started to have shorter naps and we started to join groups and go out a fair bit. But then when he was 10mths old I got pregnant again and have been really sick so it's been very hard, all these appointments and dragging him along. If I was well it would be great tho because he's finally at an age when he would enjoy playing with others and arts and crafts. When he starts kindy and this one is 1yr I'm going back to work part time tho.

I love being a stay at home mom, and don't find it boring at all. There's always stuff to teach your child, and it's so much fun watching them grow and learn. I never get tired of watching my little man. I'd hate missing their first step or first anything, really. My goodness, I can't imagine being bored, there's so much to do and it's all totally worth it. I know not all mothers stay at home, and it's not everyone's ideal job, but I personally love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Your choldren are still young.... I said I loved it when my son was home all the time with me. I just hate he just atarted school (full 8hrs) & now I'm home alone with absolutely nothing to do. My bf works fulltime & is in school so he's barely home. I'm in school to become a preschool teacher so I know of plenty things to do with my son, but he's not home! Lol Then when he gets home, we don't have much time together because of everything that must be done. I even talked to my bf about taking him out of kindergarten because in our state it's not mandatory. But, our daughter is due in a month so I will have my hands full again & cannot wait!

Oh yeah, I see your point PrinceShawnsMom, I'd get bored too just sitting at home by myself. I'd like to get a job that has school hours when my kiddos start school. Be a lunch lady or whatever. Is just like to be home when they are.

@aaharmony THANK YOU! lol I want to do the same, or be a full-time volunteer at his school (they constantly ask). But this pregnancy has been so rough on me I've not been able to do anything.

All of these stories have been so helpful in making me feel better about my choice to be a stay at home mommy with my newborn baby, and since our baby will be an only child im super excited about spending every moment with my baby. Were hoping that il be able to homeschool later on as well. I really don't want to send my child to the public schools around here, there just not that good at all.

I am a stay at home mommy! My daughter is a month old now. It's been EXTREMELY difficult for me, honestly. But that's because my situation is not very ideal right now. I had an emergency csection, so healing has been very difficult. I ended up back in the hospital with a very bad infection and was there over a week. Sent home with medicine for another week. My husband is army and he works 13-14 hour days, and we are in Germany, far far away from any family or friends so I have absolutely no help while he's at work/training/deployed. That part ***** pretty bad. BUT, I wouldn't trade it. I love getting to watch her grow and do things, even though I'm a tired zombie most of the time lol. I know it'll get easier when she gets older and sleeps through the night. But for now, it's hard! Not always sunshine and rainbows, but very worth it :)

I've worked through out my 1st and 2nd trimester but work got so out of control and hubby gave me the option to just focus on school and be home keep up with the house I was so excited it was something I've always wanted to do, so I quit my job, it was a really good job too I was working at a hospital earning real good money! Well a couple weeks went by and omg I've regret quitting just because of how BORED I was it was the same routine over and over again. But now that I'm reading about how your little ones keep you guys busy I'm really excited :) I think having my little one here is what I need because being at home all day alone is no fun lol
