I got induced last Friday at 40+4 because of low fluid I went in at 4:30 they started me on some pill I put on the inside of my cheek every 3 hours to help thin out my cervix after last pill they waited 4 hours but by the 2nd dose I started contractions I got the epidural and started the pitocin at 4:30am I was fully dialated to 10 at noon but they waited another hour to give baby a little more time to descend on her own to save me some pushing time I started pushing at 1pm and had baby girl in my arms at 1:41 it was a pretty great experience for me and I can't complain about any of it this is my first baby and I wouldn't change a thing other then it was done because of low fluid and that's bad for baby so I was worried about her the whole time

I was induced with my second daughter and it was a great experience for me. It was actually easier and less painful then when i went naturallly with my 1st baby. Everybody is going to have different experiences with being induced.. some bad and some good. Don't get scared I am sure you will be fine.

I couldn't have had a better experience! Got pitocin, got epidural then dr broke my water.  Never felt a lick I pain and only had a four hour labor. I was 38.5 weeks, dilated to a 3 and at 70% when I went in. I was induced for having excessive swelling in my feet and legs. I will definately get induced the next time around whether its for medical reasons of just because ;)

I was induced and it was aweful, and id never do it again... BUT i was over due like lots of other mommas that get induced and i think in lots of the cases there is a reason why they went over due in the first place that can affect the outcome of the induction not to mention the fact that their babies have had more time to get even bigger! With me my daughter was never gonna come out on her own, she was stuck, face up and it was inevidable that i was gonna have a csection regardless of the induction... so my theory is you hear how aweful inductions can be because majority occur after going overdue and have underlying unadvoidable circumstances that were already there before the induction got started... So yes its gonna hurt, labor hurts but its sooo worth it in the end! congrats on your little one and take care!! and if you feel you need relief there is pain medications or epiderals :) remember tho you are stronger than you think!

I was induced at 39 wks wit my first one and I honestly didn't feel any contractions.  Induction started at 9pm and at 4:30am my water broke and at 5:19AM my daughter was born.  for me it was the easiest thing ever.

Don't let people scare you. Every experience is different. I was induced and was only in labor for 7 hours and had no pain meds at all, it wasn't that bad. Painful yes, but I was expecting that. I would defintly be induced again if I could choose to.

I have been induced with all 3 of my pregnancies.  I would not recommend it if you can start and maintain labour on your own and your babe isn't in any distress.  Never a positive experience for me.

My doctor hooked me up to pitocin, and told her to turn it all the way up. I looked at him in horror and asked was he trying to kill me. He laughed and told me he hasn't killed anyone yet with a grin. I'm still alive and have a healthy three year old and 34 weeks now pregnant with baby boy #2
