is it better to BD on the day of ovulation or the days before?

mainly i have been using a AF tracker app on myiphone. according to it my fertile days for this month are april 16-22 and i would ovulate on the 21. for the month of may it says AF should come may 5. my next fertile days would be may 13-19 and i would ovulate on the 18. for the month of june AF should come on june 1. my next fertile days would june 9-15 and i would ovulate on the 14. how does all this sound to you?

There are a few calculators online that might be of help to you as well. You can put in your last few cycles and it can predict your fertile days, and when ovulation is most likely to occur. In most women, you will ovulate 2 weeks before your next period.

ok maybe this will help. my cycles are 27 days apart. AF last about 6 days. with this being said when do you ladies think i should ovulate??

Definitely start before, because sperm can live up to 5 days, and the egg only sticks around for about 24 hours after ovulation.  So before is better, day of is good, and the day after is "possible", but it's a matter of hours.

I don't know why my doctor told me that because what Clysta said makes more sense to me.

My doctor told me the day before O and the day after O and every other day after that.  I guess doctors opinions differ.

thanks sheaby. if it doesnt work this month then we will try for next month. we hoping for something this month. im hoping those days leading up to O was enough. we only DB a day after O.

It depends on if there is male factor issues or not.  If not, then yes, EOD until O is good.  According to SMEP, you BD EOD, and when you O you BD for 3 days in a row, skip a day and then one more just in case.

one tracker i been using says my fertile days were on april 16-23 and ovulated on the 22 and the other tracker i been using says im fertile on april 19-23. we BD'd on the 19, 22, and 23. o you all think that should be ok?

If you're trying to conceive, you should have sex every other day leading up to ovulation and then for two days after ovulation, just in case.
