That's normal. My son was eating around 4 ounces every 2 to 3 hours when he was new born. He's a tall baby and I guess has a fast metabolism. The doctors never thought it was alarming. As long as baby is healthy I wouldn't worry
If he's hungry, feed him. He's not eating too much. He's just a big boy with a hearty appetite.
I'm surprised by the 8 oz bottle already but I think it's unlikely that he's over fed. Just call & check with your pediatrician. You should be able to do a weight check at the office too if you can't find a scale.
Sorry just read that wrong... Thought you said he was 17 days old .... If that's what he wants then that's fine... Babies don't really "over eat" they will stop when they are full
Under 1 month of age he shouldn't really be going more than 2-3 hours between feedings during the day and no more than 4 hours between feedings at night
