ultrasounds?

So I've noticed a lot of woman get 2-3 ultrasounds through the whole pregnancy so I found it weird that I get one every time I go to my appointments. Believe me I'm not complaining, I love looking at him every time but just curios as to if anyone else gets one at every single apontment..or if my doc is doing something wrong because to be honest I'm not sure if to many ultrasoundso can have an effect on your baby? And maybe the doctor forgets every time he's done one on me

I had one done every time I went and I didn't have a high risk pregnancy,  but I switched to a midwife clinic at 29 weeks and they haven't done any there

When I was pregnant I got like about 3-6 ultrasounds bc I WAS high risk ( type 1 diabetic ) and no it doesn't have an effect on your baby bc my baby is perfectly fine :-) it probably depends on your doctor and insurance

With my first child I had 4 (military insurance). With my son all was well and I only had 3 (diff. Insurance). I'm 16wks now and I've had 3 so far. I'm classified as high risk so I've had one at each appointment. If ur insurance is willing to pay for it- enjoy!

It depends on your doctor. Mine gave me one every time its what they do for everyone but I switched to a midwife and they only do 2-3. It all depends. But most doctors its only 2-3.

I'm only going to get two. I think it bases what your insurance is paying for.

Husband and I just moved to Germany from the states. Here, they give you one every appt, a 3d one actually. In the states I only had two by 20 weeks.

I've had 3. I was supposed to get another because my baby is small but the doctor decided last minute that I didn't need it done since everything looked good.

No not high risk...well that I know of.each time I go he says the baby is doing great! So I think it might also be that they already have the ultra sound machines set up in there so it's easy to just do everytime.I didn't realize with other doctors they have to actually order the ultra sound ha just looked it up.makes sence now though well than you ladies for your input :)

I get one every appt as well, my Doc just happens to be the ultrasound specialist in his department and he just loves doing them! Great Doc, I am so lucky to have him! My other 2 pregnancies I only had 2 with them and different doctors with each!

Usually doctor monitors baby close if there isa problem. Or out could be that your insurance covers it.
