Pads gave me a rash after 2 weeks so my midwife told me to use a tampon and i did it hurt so i only used a few but maybe just see what happens
... and oddly enough, Depends have so much elastic in the body of the pants that they laid very smoothly under even my smoothest pants. I was really surprised they didn't show. It would have been impossible to use tampons, and sore too, since I labored for 27 hours before the C-section and they seemingly put every medical tool known to man up my vagina during that time including forceps. You don't want tampons after that!
After my C-section, I got my husband to bring me a package of Depends made for adults (small size). They were great for catching the masses of lochia that comes out, and I was delighted not to wear the old-fashioned pad that the hospital provided.
No tampons. Only pads. You could get an infection, your vagina is raw from birth. The thought of sticking a tampon in after birth and the pain youd probably experience makes me cringe lol.
*fairly thin* darn auto correct
Also, there are pads that are daily thin, not this thick diaper ones, that holds a lot. I prefer tampons too but after my first delivery I went with pads.
Wait until the nurse brings you a pack of mesh padded underwear after delivery. A pad will look like heaven.
My midwives have always told me nothing in the vagina until bleeding stops. I've had 4 children in 4 different states and each one had said the same. It's because of infection more than anything else. You're not just passing regular period blood
Only pads, tampons definitely hurt for a while too. I'm 12 weeks pp and I can still barely use tampons because the stretching is uncomfortable. Plus pads are going to hold the bleeding better. Overnight, extra long with wings are the best for the first few days.
Definitely no tampons for a bit. You'd leak through them anyway, but more than that, your vagina will be sore and you may have stitches.
