if you think your water is broken and go to the hospital, they actually test to is if your water, they have a stick or a test strip they use, if it changes color, it was your water. if it doesnt change colors it was urine or something else.

Have you had any spotting or contractions? Your doc should check to see if it was your water for sure by testing the fluid. Did you have an u/s? How did you realize 9 hours later it was your water that broke? I would get another opinion if you could.
If your water has broken then baby is currently in danger if you are devoid of fluid. What did your regular OBGYN say about this? It would not just be 9h that you did not have fluid if this is a true break.
