I don't think it is too soon to pack your bag.  I am 32 weeks and am doing mine this weekend.  Here is a list I found online :)

Things you will need:
1 duffel bag
1 large diaper bag
2 extra reusable shopping bags
1 robe
1 extra set of clothes
3 outfits for baby
1 blanket
1 receiving blanket
hair brush
travel size soaps
toothbrush and toothpaste
cash and change
apple juice bottled water and sport drink
mp 3 player
chap stick and gum
2 pairs of underwear
hair tie to put your hair up

i would go ahead and pack it now....i went at 36 weeks...other suggestions for your bag...your own brand of Maxi Pads....(hated the hospital ones)..also dont forget your CAMERA and baby book (or a blank page for scrapbook for the baby's footprints!..i know here where i live the nurses will go ahead and stamp babys feet for you when they do the birth certificate at birth!) ...Hand sanitizer to keep at bedside for visitors! Also Boppy pillow if you have one...good luck!
