work

So I am 30wks and I work 40-45hrs a week on my feet. i know its not really that much but I am starting to become so exhausted. I don't have any complications or restrictions. And my OB told me to work up to my due date. I really only want to work 25-30 hours per week, which my employer would be happy to comply with. But I need a note from my OB. My question is will they give me these restrictions just because I'm tired and I want them? Also I feel awkward about asking everytime I go to the clinic. Afraid they will say no I guess and I would be devastated. Any advice??

Under fmla, you should be able to reduce your hours and have modifications to your workload. I'm 36 weeks pregnant And I bartend about 26 hrs a week on my feet and its rare I get a break so I can imagine how your feeling work 20 more hrs.. The further you get the harder its gonna be. I'm leaving 10 days before my DD and with my 2nd I left 2 days before I had her cuz I was only given 4 weeks off work even though I had a c section. Tell your doc you're stressed and are worried the hours will make u go into preterm labor and you just want to reduce hrs and your employer doesn't care. I can't imagine not having an understanding Dr that wouldn't write you a note.

I had this issue too so finally at 36 weeks I asked my doc and he said no and that I had to work right up until delivery. I was upset but they explained that there is no reason to not work. Hopefully you have more luck then I did. If you do have to work I would ask for an extra break and maybe the will be willing to help. Good luck!!

They sure will. My doctor tried to cut out my second job from the beginning but I wouldn't let her and I was perfectly fine. About a month ago I had enough and was happy hours were being cut. I decided go ahead and take me off the schedule for a while but I'm not going back since I have my full time job. All the walking and dealing with people worked my nerves so I'm glad I haven't been back. Just ask cause they are always willing to do what's best for you and baby.
