Hello.
You have not stated how long ago you have had your prostate removed or if you had nerve-sparing surgery. Both of these facts would help. Is your doctor not addressing this issue? It can take up to 18 months for erections to happen. Doctors usually prescribe different medicines to help their patients achieve erections and increase blood flow to the penile tissues in order to prevent scarring and assist in better function when erections do again become possible.
It would be best to make an appt with your physican or just call with a few questions if your surgery was recent. If not perhaps your surgeon/urologist can recomment a specialist in ED. Best wishes for recovery.
Hi,
It would be best to consult your doctor.
Erections occur because of the unique dynamics of blood flow in the penis. Medications can help control the blood flow, however, as the drug is in your body - other blood vessels may be affected. Some blood vessels may impair supply to the heart - and this would be harmful.
Success with these drugs also vary dependent on the degree of erectile dysfunction.
