I'd like an interpretation of a hip Arthrogram MRI radiology report

Comparison is made to previous MRI 4/5/16.
There is irregularity of the labrum suggesting previous surgery/degenerative tearing with a superimposed high signal cleft suggesting a recurrent tear.
There is mild hip synovitis.
Mild thinning of acetabular cartilage anterosuperiorly is noted as previously without demonstrated progression.
There is narrowing of the ischiofemoral distance without quadratic femoris oedema or atrophy.
Comment:
1. Suggestion of a recurrent anterosuperior labral tear, of indeterminate significance in relation to the patient's pain.
2. Mild hip synovitis.
3. No demonstrated fracture or other bone lesion.
4. Mild anterosuperior acetabular chondral thinning without demonstrated progression.

you have hip synovitis which is confirmed...but you also have the labral tear which needs to be taken care as well...when soft tissues of joint are damaged they cause tear and sprain...!!!

I am not an expert on this but what I understand from the report is:

-There is indication of a recurrent tear in the ring of cartilage (labrum) that follows the outside rim of the socket of your hip joint. (the labrum acts like a rubber seal or gasket to help hold the ball at the top of your thighbone securely within your hip socket). It is not sure if this could cause the patient's pain
-There are no indications to suspect a bone fracture.
-The cartilage thickness of the hip is comparable with the situation in may 2016
-There is indication of synovitis, which is an inflammation of the inner lining (the synovium) of the capsule of the hip joint.

Synovitis causes joint tenderness or pain or swelling.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Pain can also be controlled temporarily with an injection of corticosteroids into the joint.

Please note that I am NO doctor.
