Maybe this is a stretch putting this up in the Relationships forum but you know . . . what the heck.  Why not?!  Soooooo, my dog that I LOVE . . . and I really love her. . .  hides treats she doesn't like.  This includes hard dog biscuits my husband keeps buying and giving to her, French toast sticks my kids give her from breakfast, pizza crust she grabs off a plate on the kids table, etc. and she hides them in corners of the house.  And now we think it is funny so my husband gives her the hard biscuit and we watch her. She turns around and looks at us and just stands there not moving.  So, we turn our backs to her and then she will continue to a corner and 'hide' her biscuit.  It always makes me laugh!

OMG, are these like stories about our own kids that we think are hilarious and they are hilarious only to us?  I might have to contact the mods to delete this thread.  LOL

I had a dog that is no longer with me . . .  she is in dog heaven. . . but she was a scrounger.  Loved food, loved food in a garbage pail. She wasn't terribly big, maybe 20 pounds.  She would jump INTO the garbage and just be in there eating with her head sticking out.  I mean, gross and she would get a lot of baths but she was a garbage diver.  We finally had to clear a spot IN the pantry so we could keep the can behind a pail rather than at the side of our counter where we had it.

Heh, seeing as I have no kids my two cats are the loves of my life. They are so different yet so lovable. Minki my 'normal' cat is very greedy and eats all Goldie's food if he can get away with it. Goldie is my curious, naughty cat who gives me that 'I dear you' look. Goldie is on a special kidney diet so I feed her in the bedroom. She will only eat her food if I sit on the bed and stay with her, but if I don't lock the door after she has eaten, Minki sneaks in there and eats the rest of her food. When Goldie realizes that Minki has eaten all her food - again - she goes in the kitchen and starts chomping away on his. I can always tell she is eating his food because she crunches the Kibbles  very noisily. As she is not supposed to eat non-kidney diet feeding time is a nightmare in my house.

Oh my.  LOL  They are probably pals but the feeding ritual sounds laborious.  lol.  Especially since one is on a special diet!!

Does anyone's dog seem to smile?  Mine does at times and when I see it, I crack up.  Immediately makes me happy.

Golden Retrievers are blessed with faces that look like they are smiling a lot of the time. We have had four Goldens over the years, and they were all as happy and sweet-tempered as they looked.

My daughter has a golden and she looks like she is smiling and stoned at the same time!!
smiling and stoned .  .  . lol  I do love that breed. My sister had one.  I like that she brought her loved ones a glove or sock whenever they entered the home.  LOL  Not sure what that was about but it was like a gift!
One of my Goldens brought home someone's boxer shorts. We never did figure out whose.
LMAO!!!!

My beagle "shuns" me!  I can go up to her and she will look the other way, sits with her back towards me and when she thinks i am not looking she will peek my way!

The lab hates when hubby sits by me.  She usually jumps on my lap and tries to worm her way in between us and then stares at him with a look of disgust!  She is very protective of me!  If he comes up to me and puts his arms around me she wiggles her butt in between us.  She would be a great birth control for anyone who needed it!  The beagle on the other hand would invite people in for cookies and coffee!!!

Heh, your dogs sound really interesting. I can literally see your beagle shunning you. And, yes, that lab. of yours would be great birth control. You'll have to rent him out.
Ha ha, what have you done that requires shunning?  That's so funny.  Our friends have a dog that stares at you if you aren't looking but then if you look at him, it looks the other way.  We play a game of look/look away all the time.  Cracks me up.

And I had a dog before the one I have now who required grooming (ugh, adding dog hair cuts to the budget was not my favorite . . . current dog sheds but no hair cuts, it's a trade off)--  anyway, she'd get her hair cut and come home and act embarrassed. She'd hide behind the drapes, behind chairs for the first few hours.  lol  I understood because I've had some bad hair cuts in my day too.

And your lab . . .   was the lab yours before your husband?  You are mama and all his (the labs).  lol
One of my cats, when annoyed, would follow me from room to room just to sit with his back to me to show me how annoyed he was with me. If I would change rooms, so would he, and would find another conspicuous place to sit (with his back to me) just so I would get it. It was hilarious.
When my youngest is mad at me, he kind of does that.  Youngest child, not pet. LOL   So, what does your cat get mad about?  :>))))
This was a prior cat. Trying to remember. His response was so distinctive that the cause of the offenses doesn't spring to mind, but probably it had to do with not hopping up and feeding him when requested, or dressing him in goofy outfits and laughing. We were younger then. :)

Our Golden retrievers would have invited a burglar in for cookies and coffee. Loved those dogs, but if you let them out of the fenced area, they were off to the neighbors to see what was up (neighbor two farmer's fields distance away, that is) or giving an axe murderer the key to the car. At least our little Pom/Chi sticks to the front porch. She thinks she is as big as a lion, and protectively sits there like the library lions at the New York Public Library, which is a problem with visual scale because she is no larger than a cat. (If the Goldens had ever done that, it would have been magnificent looking, but no, they were off to make gregarious calls on strangers.)

Your dogs just want to say hello to everyone!  With you chasing them a mile behind.  ha.  We have a runner too.  It sends me into panic and I start screaming immediately to the kids "get the cheese!!  get the cheese!!" and we all run after her yelling "CHEESE!"  "TREAT!"  We are quite the spectacle for our neighbors at those moments.

lol, the lions at the library.  Good visual!

Soooo . .. . don't want to brag or anything, BUT . . . my woofers may be a little bit of a genius.  :>)))))  She understands a lot.  I refer to my sons to the dog as 'the brothers'.  (they are brothers and HER brothers, after all).  And when I have to wake them up, I say to my dog "go get the brothers' and she will go upstairs to each of their rooms and wake them up!  Until I say it, she won't. Pretty good alarm clock, right?

Both of mine fight over the couch.  The big one will lay where the beagle usually does just to make her mad.  Beagle will then grab the big ones favorite tattered what was once a duck toy to try and bribe her off the couch which usually works.  Beagle then jumps up on the couch and stares at the big one.   They really are like toddlers and always getting into something.  The big one has a built in clock so she starts pacing and growling at me about 4:30.  Supper is usually at 5 for them and god forbid i feed them at 5:01.  I think they both have the ASCPA on speed dial, just in case.  The beagle thinks she is a Great Dane and i just dont have the heart to tell her any different!!
