Yes they still do open car doors for women! I see many elderly couples at the hardware store and i just love them! One couple are always holding hands and he opens the car door for her. They are so cute walking hand in hand out to the parking lot(they are in their upper 80's) Most of the elderly men help their wives walking to the parking lot. I also have noticed the amount of respect the men have for their wives. You dont hear them bashing them even when the wives have sent them back in for getting the wrong item!! The younger guys not so much. I have learned so much from that age group.
Here are my thoughts on equality....If i can do a job just as good as a man we should be paid the same and vice versa. When it comes to opening doors i hold the door for the elderly, mom's with babies or toddlers, physically handicapped people etc. I always say Thank You if someone has held the door for me.
I remember back in the day when a guy could compliment a woman on a nice dress she had on. Noone found it offensive like they do now.
Well, I think for me I might share a bit after a few dates. Like, this one is on me..but if he refused and insisted he pays, that would look really good in my eyes. When my Hub & I go out, (once in a great while) I will try to pay and he tells me NO, he makes more money then I do and to keep it for things I need. OK with me!
I do think they should pay too..(old school for sure). When one goes out on a date, that would be a red flag right there if they want the women to pay. You might be going on this date to see if he is Mr. right and if I had to pay then I would know his character if I had to pay. There could be situation that one agreed on the "who pays process". Been married going on 33 now, however, if I was out there dating I would expect the man to pay for sure.
I had a friend who refused to pay EVER while dating. I wasn't like that but at times I was probably too generous and had a couple of guys take advantage. I like old style traditions and values . . . it was nice when I dated someone who believed in chivalry. And buying. haha
I'm still old school. He is going to pay!
