Words . . .

Words, they can get us in all sorts of trouble.  We can use them carelessly.  We can spew venom with them when angry.  We can leave marks on someone forever with our words.  WE may not be aware when we say something that this thing ---  these words will be with that person forever!

Have you ever had something said to you by someone else that you've carried with you your whole life?

I'll share first----  my sister who is older than me (and wiser, and smarter, and more fabulous, and perfect . . .   marsha marsha marsha---  you know the drill, a perfect older sibling . . .)  was in highschool and I was in Jr. Highschool.  She had taken some psychology course and learned about 'negative wizards'.  She called me a negative wizard!  I guess I was raining down on her parade about something holding her down, back, etc.

My whole life that has stuck with me.  LOL  I think about it----  I don't want to be responsible for dulling anyone's flame.  I don't want to be the doggie downer that makes someone think they can't do something they want to do.  Or that they aren't good enough.  Or on a set path that will never change.

So, when someone says something to me such as friend----  I'm upbeat.  I don't point out the negatives. Even if I'm doubtful, I will not responsible for making them doubt their ability to make something happen in their life.

No negative wizard for me.  ha ha.  I think of when my sister said that to me frequently.  Not really sure why it stuck with me for this long . . .
