CT Scan results

I had a CT of my chest and abdomen I don't understand the results.
" Infiltrative changes at the left lung base.  There is prominence of vascular marking and slight cardiomegaly is noted.  Also, there is some effusion at the left base, rule out cardiac decompensation. There is some splenomegaly.  IMPRESSION: SOME CARDIOMEGALY IS NOTED WITH BILATERAL PLEURAL EFFUSION AND SPLENOMEGALY.  RULE OUT CARDIAC DECOMPENSATION.  THERE ARE ALSO INFILTRATIVE CHANGES AT THE LEFT LUNG BASE."

I am really confused about what this means.  My doctor didn't seem very concerned about it.  Should I seek another opinion or am I just over reacting?

Please put this into 'English' for me, any help appreciated.

My symptoms at the time were periodic pain in the chest, kind of like a pulled muscle.  I would have the pain when I moved a certain way or took a deep breath.  The pain in my abdomen is pretty much all the time.  I have since had another CT scan and the swelling and fluid are all gone.  But, I still have a lot of unexplained pain.  I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis, so maybe that is a lot of it.  I hope that you find the answers to your questions as well and that you'll feel better soon.

The findings are suggestive of heart failure and enlargement of your spleen.  There is also an indication of fluid in your chest, surrounding part of your lung.  There are many causes of fluid in the chest.  Heart failure is one.  Pneumonia is another.  The fluid could even be related to the enlarged spleen.  These are all serious findings and you are justifiably concerned.  You should seek another opinion from a pulmonary specialist.  This is not an emergency but you should not delay making an appointment.  If your insurance does not permit you to go to a specialist without a referral, you should ask your primary doctor to give you one.
