noncalcified granuloma

I had an xray on 3/25/08 in the Emergency Room.  The next morning I recd a phone call from the Hospital stating that I had a 5mm non calcified granuloma and that I needed to come back in 6 months and have another chest x-ray.  I work here at the Hospital and this worries me badly.  Do you think I should wait 6 months.  I went to the ER because of severe abdominal pain on the left side under my ribs.  The ER Doctor thought it to be that I pulled something.  The pain was so severe though.  Can you give me some advise?

Thanks,

Debbie Flanagan

A PET scan can definitely tell if it is cancerous or not?? I have been diagnosed with this also and I have a 3 year old. This is KILLING me not knowing. And the waiting for another X-ray is torture! How is your granuloma now? Has it ever calcified?

I had a ct scan that showed a 9mm uncalcified nodule on my lung.
My Dr arranged for me to have a PET scan. This scan showed that the nodule was in fact a noncalcified granuloma.
Please talk to your Dr about this Pet scan. I now have a peace of mind.

Thanks for you info.  I have gone back to my Dr and he did an xray in his office and we are going to watch it every 6 months unless I have some kind of difficulty.  I hope things go well with you. Let me know if you find out anything else about what is going on with you.
