PND and Hydrocodone

Hello,
I saw some old posts about PND and hydrocodone or some form of it "curing" PND.
I have had Hydrocodone for back pain over the years and always seemed to notice my PDN stopped when using it. I mentioned it to my Dr. and he looked at me like I was nuts (or maybe he thought I was fishing for more drugs)
I have suffered, and suffered is the word, with PND my entire life (50 now) and the last few years it has gotten much worse. Been thru all the allergy testing and meds and nothing helps.
I recently ruptured a disk in my back and again noticed my PND went away for the 2 months I was on that Hydrocodone. Absolutely totally went away! In spite of the back pain I was in heaven! I got off the hydro when things got better in my back and the PND returned. I've been experimenting with my left over hydro pills and there is ABSOLUTELY a correlation between my PND stopping and taking hydro. I was so thrilled to read others notes and experience being similar to mine as it tells me this is not some unique reaction just for me. I know I can't go on hydro as a "cure" (though honestly I'd do it if someone would prescribe it!)
I'm going to start looking for someone that specializes in PND (I live near Boston) and pursue this further. I would love to spend my next 50 years PND free. Has anyone worked with a Dr. that believes this effect is real? Any other non addicting drugs that may be related to Hydro that would give the same relief?
Thanks

I was diagnosed with LPR (laryngo pharyngeal reflux). This condition shows  all the same symptoms that PNS does. After having an endoscopy and going to several gastroenterologist and ENT specialists I found that the only drug that helps is Tussionex which is a narcotic that combines Hydrocodone and Chlorpheniramine. The problem is ofcourse that no doctor will give that on a daily bases for the rest of my life. If anybody know about any other any other non addicting drugs that may be related or not to Hydro that would give the same relief?
Thanks

I have had a lot of mucus build-up when I wake up in the middle of the night and find it very difficult to return to sleep.  I keep trying to swallow what's caught over and over.  Also, after having all this stuff draining into my stomach all night it feels upset the next morning.  I broke my leg and was given Hydrocodone pills for a few months and guess what zero problems of any kind with nasal drip at night or stomach problems during the day.  I am spending 40$ a month now on a mix of antihistamine and Sudafed which does'nt work nearly as well.  I wish there was something I could take that would work like the Hydrocondone pills.  I told my doctor and he already new about this affect so he gave me a months supply along with a steriod spray and Antihistamine pill.
