This gives me anxiety, please help if you can

So I'm 18 year-old boy. I want keep this short as possible so long story short.

Me and couple of my friends went to this abonded place. There were about 10 broken houses. I went like 1 meter inside to this first house with jacket covering my mouth and nose. Then we saw second house and there is asbestos warning. And all of other houses had too. After seeing those I was really scared and I didn't go inside to these houses. I didn't want to be there anymore. We walked there like 10-15 minutes and then we finally left. Now I'm so scared that breathed asbestos and I will die because of that one stupid thing we did. Plus when we were close to houses I put my shirt's stomach part to cover my mouth and nose. But after thinking that, every asbestos particle could have stucked to that part of my and I breathed that.

So I want to ask, does this one time harm me badly? I felt like something in my throat there and I feel it still a bit. I don't know if it was dust or something else but now I cough sometimes. I'm so scared. Can somebody help me with this?

And sorry for my language, English is not my native language.

I haven't got any sleep this night because I'm so worried... But if I understood corrctly, you guys are saying that I have nothing to worry about. One time doesn't kill like in most of things and what I did was over-reaction. Thanks for your comments!! Now I can relax so much after hearing that and I can try to sleep now a bit. Thank you for once more!!

You DID understand correctly and you have absolutely NO REASON to carry this fear with you any longer! There is no way in this world that you inhaled enough asbestos to cause ANY harm whatsoever. Please put this worry out of your head and get some rest! You are 100% clear. (And don't worry about over-reacting. It's better that you asked and now have complete peace of mind)

Please stop worrying! It takes years (greater than 10+) of CONTINUED exposure to HIGH levels of asbestos to cause lung damage. If you and your friends were in abandoned houses, there would be a lot of regular old dust and that WOULD cause you to cough. If it has been more than a couple of days since you were in the abandoned buildings and you're still coughing, I think it's very likely being triggered by anxiety. If you have an underlying issue like asthma, that could also be causing the cough.......but my gut is telling me it's anxiety. If you are STILL coughing a week from now or develop a fever or any other symptoms, see your doctor immediately. Otherwise, drink lots of water and just try and relax about this asbestos scare. The amount of time you were in those buildings could NOT possibly have exposed you to enough asbestos.
You'll be fine!

People used to work in asbestos factories throwing the stuff around when it fell off conveyor belts or machinery broke etc. with no breathing protection because they didn't know any better, but they didn't all get asbestosis or people would have started noticing it. Your exposure was a drop in the ocean compared to any of them.

I grew up in a house with asbestos siding that used to get broken once in a while and we never thought about it.
