Why am I always catching colds

Since December I’ve been catching pretty much cold after cold. I had 3 colds. January I had 2 and February I had 1. It’s now April and here I am with another one. All of the ones I’ve had include symptoms of; runny nose, temperature, cough, sore throat, aches and phlegm cough (which this had never gone away since a new cold soon comes around)

I’m 20 years old I work in a coffee shop so I do worth with customers pretty much all day 5 times a week. But my co workers never get as sick as often as I do and naturally my boss is getting quite concerned about the amount of times I get sent home by duty managers and the times that customers point out that I’m sick yet again. I don’t want to be ill but it doesn’t look good to customers when you’re making their drinks sniffing every two seconds or having to wash your hands for the millionth time after coughing or sneezing. I don’t know what to do I hate being ill and I’ve frankly had enough of it.

Hello, welcome to MedHelp's forums.  Thank you for your question but we are sorry you have been battling so many colds.  There can be seasons like this.  Different virus strains can hit the same person causing several colds. However, do make sure they are colds and not allergies which your doctor can help you with.  Sometimes our lifestyle can lead to being more prone to colds such as not getting enough rest or not eating well, generally being run down. Here's an article that may help you. https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/11-tips-prevent-cold-flu#1. Working in a public place where people are coughing and spreading germs does increase your risk.  Washing hands will definitely help and if you have not been getting annual flu shots, that would be recommended.  We hope this is the last of your colds for a long time.  Best of health to you.

you need to make dietary changes to boost your immune system first off do not eat sugar it fuels every virus bacteria and fungal infection that cause colds .you are getting sick easy and often your immunity is not good processed foods are no good as well they all have sugar .eat green veggies they fuel probiotics wich are 70 percent of your immune system.also take a good multi and add zinc it fights bacterial infections but max zinc is 35 to 40 mcg that is where you want to be.if you need confirmation you can go to a naturopath and they will tell you the same there are more supplement suggestions they may have as well .coffee is a bad thing for you also it fuels yeast overgrowth wich along with sugar helps imbalance your gut if you have yeast overgrowth it crowds out your good bacteria and weakens your immune system . the average person eats 400 lbs of sugar per year.you dont realize how many foods have it and soft drinks .put good in get good out .it might cost you a little more to eat healthy until you balance your gut but you will eat less when you do.so it will balance out .you will also feel better and suffer less .your wallet will be fatter in the long run if you are able to work all the hrs you want and more.Good luck
