nose job...with mitral valve prolapse

Hi, im having cosmetic surgery next wednesday,and i have a mitral valve prolapse. i have had a recent Echo and am waiting for a TEE/

Just wanted to know if there are any complications in relation to mitral valve prolapse/Mitral regurgitation??  and will i be ok!!

i have spoke to my doctor about this and he said "you'll be fine"  so wanted to know if there was any other information you could give me!

the cosmetic surgery refused to do it until i have had the TEE.  but i am still hoping to have it done in march next year.

Dear Sarahwright01,

Thank you for your question.  However, I prefer that you ask your medical doctor who will be performing your TEE and Echo regarding risks of those procedures.

In general, we will have patients take prophylactic antibiotics prior to surgery.  But, once again, I would rely on your doctor and your surgeon for this.
