Unprotected oral with a prostitute

About 10 weeks ago , i slept with a sex worker . She was an eastern European and looked clean with no obvious signs of anything unusual on her body. I had protected sexual intercourse and she performed unprotected oral for less than minute.
I live in a small town of a 3rd world country and as such , could not find any good doctor who understands stds like gonorrhea , chlamdiya NGU  etc or a lab where i can get my self tested for these stds. Until the following 8 weeks after my encounter , i noticed no symptoms of penis discharge , painful urination or signs of herpes or warts. However , since last 2 weeks i have been experiencing usual pain in the penis and mild  pain from ejaculation, increased urinary frequency following the ejaculation, upset stomach and mild pain in right knee.  I am getting worried i may have gotten gonorrhea, chlamdiya and or NGU which have remained silent until now. What is the likelihood i have been infectd with stds given my symptoms and what r my chances of catching HIV ?

Luckily , i have found a lab where they have PCR testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia . I read somewhere and it said PCR testing should only be done  until 2-3 weeks after the encounter . Is it true? Can i still get accurate results  via PCR testing for these 2 stds through urine samples? If not , what other tests are available which will be accurate. Also , i searched the web a lot but could not find any lab tests  for NGU.Please let me know the specific lab name of the test for NGU. Also, should i get  tested for syphilis and how long should i wait to get tested for HIV .

Lets assume i test + for gonorrhea , chlamydia and NGU , is it too late to still get treated for them through antibiotics which will clear the bacteria or have the bacteria had enough   time multiply  to and have caused some chronic disease like urethral stricture, prostatitis , arthritis etc? And if i test + , do i have a higher chance of also being infected with HIV from that encounter?

Hello

Yes you can test reliably at this interval for the conditions you have specified.

There is no reason why you should not be able to be treated and cured of them.

Chlamydia is one cause of Non Gonococcal Uretherits - NGU - but only one. There are other organisms including ureaplasma, mycoplasma, trichomonas, gardnerella, strep, staph etc which may cause you a problem.

Hello Doctor,

Thanks for the prompt response.

I understand your point on taking local advise but my whole point of posting on this form was because i cannot get any good local advice. It would be really helpful if you can offer atleast some advice on if PCR testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia can still reveal accurate results after 10 weeks and if i do test + for gonorrhea and chlamydia , can they still be cured via antibiotics or if they have had enuff time to cause some chronic disease.

Also , from my research on the net , i found NGU is caused by Chlamydia virus. So dose testing for Chlamdiya also tests for NGU or if some other tests are done for NGU?

I would really appreciate your advice on my concerns.

Thanks,
Ankit

Good Morning Mr Buckeye,

Thank you for your post.

The fact that you used protection = condoms - for penetrative sex means that you not have been exposed to HIV that way.

You will not acquire HIV through being sucked.

You may pick up other STD's such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes, genital warts and NSU from being sucked. These can all be in the mouth or throat of the sucker.

You should be tested for them.

At this interval you can test for all of these but you will need to take local advice as to what tests are available, what methods they use. You are though able to test reliably at this interval. There are many different tests and names of tests so you will need to take local advice about that.

best regards, Sean
