Are these Azithromycin and Ciprofloxacin side effects?

On August 11, I had protected vaginal intercourse and received unprotected oral from a sex worker in Thailand.  8 days later, I had a red lesion on my testicles for which my doctor diagnosed as fungal infection which I used an anti fungal cream on.  It started to heal but about the same time, my testicles burned slightly and were very red.

Went back to the doctor on August 29 and he diagnosed it as epidydymitis for which I took 1000 mg of azithromycin and 500 mg of ciproflozacin at once.  (I later found out this is used to cure chlamydia and/or gonorrhea).  The antibiotics did great thankfully, as the redness went away and no burn in the testicles.  However, the first week after taking the antibiotic (from say August 29 to September 7, I felt quite weak).  I assumed this was from the strong dose.

But the biggest alarm I have is since September 11 till today my tongue has been white and my throat feels like there is a lump insid, although it does not hurt.  Drinking lots of water, eating garlic, swishing with coconut oil has greatly helped bring it to a normal color temporarily but it goes back to white and blotchy after a while.  My question is, would this be a side effect of the Azithro and Cipro?  It is hard to tell from reading online so I thought I would ask.

On an STD side note, I had taken an STD test on August 28 (prior to taking my antibiotics) for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphillius and came back negative.  I did come back positive for gardnerella.  I assume I still have gardnerella since my doctor who prescribed me the meds did not know I had it at the time.  I do not think this is HIV related as I used protection but still plan to take an HIV test next week as a piece of mind (I read white tongue/thrush can be a symptom of HIV ARS on google).

Anyway, if you know if my white tongue and lumpy throat feeling is a side effect of azithro and cipro, given I took them on August 29?  Or perhaps something else, perhaps?

Your question has been answered. You had no HIV exposure or chance of HIV. No one ever caught hiv from unprotected oral sex and you won't be the first. Protected vaginal sex is safe in regards to HIV. Even unprotected sex the males chance of catching hiv is externally low.

Like I said before Yes antibiotics can cause thrush, balantis, and all kinds of yeast and fungal infections as it kills off the good bacteria that fights the yeast and fungus.

I appreciate the response.  I went to a doctor here and he stated it is oral thrush.  He did not test or anything for it.  I thought for some reason, it is not necessarily an eye test but rather a swab/sample taken to assess and then conclude.

I have been googling online about the two antibiotics I took.  Azithromycin (1000mg one time) and Ciproflozacin (500mg same time).  And two things:

1) I thought that prolonged antibiotic use can lead to thrush.  Not just a one time thing as I did.

2) Are the two antibiotics listed above prone to causing oral yeast infections? I just cannot find a lot of information on that online unfortunately.

The only reason I even remotely worry about HIV is that white tongue/thrush is a symptom of HIV.  I have never had thrush before and it is coincidental to come roughly 4 weeks after intercourse. (albeit also 13 days after I took the antibiotics).

You had no HIV exposure to worry with. Regarding the white tounge it's not in common to get a yeast overgrowth after taking antibiotics. It could be oral thrush

Thanks a lot.  I did not realize that the yeast overgrowth was not non-common after taking these antibiotics.  So that helps.

Just a quick follow-up.  Would the diagnosis of havinghttp://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs---STIs/Are-these-Azithromycin-and-Ciprofloxacin-side-effects/show/2996010# gardnerella also factor into the white tongue/lump in throat etc. (in addition to the antibiotics)?  I cannot find a whole lot of information about gardnerella in men.

On a side note, I am assuming the gardnerella was the cause of inflammation since I had tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Kindly ignore the link.  I am not sure how that got in there.  Thank you.
