Can I get herpes through kissing or touching someone’s skin ?

I gave a bare hand massage to someone yesterday, I don’t know if she have herpes or whatsoever, I ended up kissing her in the mouth for less than a minute. I now read on the internet that herpes can be contracted through kissing and skin to skin. Can someone please enlighten me. Please do not delete my question, tell me if I post the wrong question or at a wrong place. Two of my questions about herpes was deleted here, probably if answered would have help me to know what to do before yesterday incident.
Thank you all.

I answered this on your thread in the Herpes forum. You can find it here - https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Herpes/Can-you-contract-herpes-without-sex/show/3057434

Please keep all your questions to that thread, as it's easier for me to keep up with it all. There's no reason to keep posting the same thing over and over until someone answers.

Also: "Two of my questions about herpes was deleted here, probably if answered would have help me to know what to do before yesterday incident." - We are not responsible for your safer sex decisions. This information is available everywhere, and you are under no obligation to have any kind of sex if you aren't sure if it's safe or not. If you decide to have any kind of encounter, that's your decision.

Also, you decided to do this in a pandemic. I don't know where you are, but no where is totally covid-free yet.

We are going to close this thread so that you will keep your questions in your other thread.

I am not a professional, but from what I have been reading on here is that if the person had an active sore on her lips then herpes could be passed down or if your genitals came into contact with an active herpes sore
