Can azithromycin and doxycycline fail treating chlamydia?

Basically I was si gle for a year and a half with no sex at all and slept with a girl twice. 2 weeks later I started having a slight burning when I peed and small tiny clear fluid at the tip of my penis. I tested positive for chlamydia and negative for ghonarea and trichomoniasis. I got a snit and 2 pills of azithromycin a d went back a week later as I was still seeing that little bit of fluid on my tip but all the other symptoms were gone. They
Clinic said i needed to go to a pvp so i did and he retested me (came back positive) and gave me 2 weeks of doxycycline.  I took all the meds and i havent slept with anyone at all. I still have that little bit of fluid at the tip. The dr seems like it's no big deal and keeps saying that "the doxy should have killed everything" and to come back in two weeks. I woke up 2 days later and I can see the little white stuff floating in my pee still and still have that little bit of fluid here and there. I made another appointment for a few days from now rather than waiting for 2 more weeks. I'm thoroughly freaked out about it since I've only slept with 3 people in my life. The girl that had to have given it to me tested negative. I dont see how I can not have symptoms or even a though of an std for a year and a half of being alone and then this one encounter with this girl and having issues. Hiw can she test negative?
Anyways, any advice or info would be great. Should I pick another dr? Should I be as worried as I am? If those two treatments failed, how many other treatments are there? I'm 29 if it matters.

So first, if you test too soon, you could get a false positive because the test could still react to dead bacteria from the antibiotic. That's why they usually tell you to wait a few weeks if they want to do a test of cure.

It's possible you just have lingering symptoms, or you could have another infection. It doesn't sound as if you were tested for mycoplasma genitalium.

It's a newer STD, and one that you should talk to your doctor about. You can print out that info and show it to your doc, or email it to him.

How did your partner test negative? I don't know. Perhaps she was on an antibiotic and got a false negative, or you had it from a previous partner, although it would be odd that you suddenly got symptoms. Perhaps she isn't being truthful. Obviously, we can't answer those questions.

Wait until your next appointment, and if your symptoms aren't cleared up, ask about MG.
