Does Gonorrhea take 6+ mons to show up?

I had unprotected sex in May, then I took a break from intercourse until August of the same year. In August, I had  intercourse one time (which was protected). Now it is the end of Feb the following year and I just tested positive for Gonorrhea. I have had several std testings, one in May, Sept, Nov and Dec. All these test were negative for Gonorrhea. Can Gonorrhea take up to 6 months to test positive? Could this be a false positive? My physician tells me it's not the standard of care to have the test repeated but I truely am uncertain. I also have not had any significant signs of any presence of an STD but I realize this is not accurate evidence. I am considering a second opinion but this may take a while to get an appointment and results and I am concerned that treatment is urgent since 6 months have already past.

P.S. I have repeated the test at the same office, therefore I assume they used the same testing methods (i.g. culture swab or urine).

If you haven't had symptoms, and you have tested negative 3 times previously, I still think your instincts about a false positive is right.  It is your choice whether or not to take treatment.  You have already tested again, so your results would not be affected.

I actually haven't had intercourse at all since august. It was unprotected one time only (the incident in may) but now 4 test later and 6 months after any sexual contact I have tested positive for the std.

Gonorrhea can be difficult to detect in women.  At least that is what the NP at my local health department told me the last time I went.  But not after 4 tests.  There is the slight possibility of a false positive but that does not happen often.  Most likely, this is a more recent infection.  Especially if you are having unprotected sex and within the last 1-4 weeks.
