Error in judgement

Doc, I made a big error in judgement and ended up with a prostitute last night.  She performed unprotected oral sex for about a minute and then we had sex using a condom.  We washed ourselves before and after our activities.  I have read that the risk of contracting an STD is low and that I should get tested, but is there anything that can be gained medically by taking a z-pack to try and prevent an STD from taking hold in my system?  I expect you will tell me to wait to see a doctor first, but can the z-pack be used to keep an STD from developing before symptoms are noticed?

Thanks Grace.  I've heard from others about taking the z-pack to help prevent anything from developing at this stage.  Does it do nothing until the STD actually takes hold?  Maybe they've had good fortune using the z-pack because they never contacted anything in the first place.  I do understand the wisdom of talking to a health care provider and getting tested, but am interested in the possibility of stopping anything from taking hold in the first place.

this is not the doctor's forum - you have to pay to post there.

washing up before and after sex doesn't decrease your std risk - it only makes you smell better.

no need to treat for anything at this point. you had protected sex and brief unprotected oral. should you get any symptoms genitally, follow up on them with your provider.
