Gram stain testing

I had a gram stain test today after feeling some discomfort in my Urethra and after some discharge It came back negative for the gram stain but I was told to come back in tow weeks for my final results for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea for NAAT tests. How often do gram stains miss infections. Could the gram stain miss NGU? Thanks very much for your time and attention.

well, just sit tight and wait for your results.  It's a good sign they didn't see anything on the gram stain, but refrain from having sex as discharge is not a good sign.

No they didn't treat me they told me that they didn't see anything they are waiting for the results.I am so worried I don't know if the symptoms are all in my head or actual symptoms.

A gram stain is a good indication of any infection/ bacteria but the most reliable test will be the NAAT.  

Yes, a gram stain can miss NGU.  

Did they treat you at all or are they waiting for your results before they administer abx?
